Good afternoon to everyone across the NOBS WORLD. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times last Sunday in the NOBS WORLD. Some of us were up to our shins in the snow, while others were playing rugby in the Florida sun,in Ft. Lauderdale. Our reporter in the field, Barry Goldberg said it wasn't all sun and fun as in the early part of their trip they were wearing light jackets and jeans. Okay, okay; what about the rugby? The NOBS went into the tournament as defending champions. First up was everyone's favourite, the Virginia Reds. The NOBS held the lead late in the game, only to see a late, long try by the opposition to drop the fixture. Next up was Eastern Ontario squad the Myths and Legends, a longtime foe. For the second year in a row the NOBS were victorious.
On the second day of games, two of the teams in the tournament dropped out. It was decided that the Reds would be given the championship!! Not even a playoff. It had to be a Russian official that favoured the Reds. We'll get em next year. Many thanks to our photographer and reporter John Guilfoyle for the team photo.
