Rolf, could you please forward to the membership.

Our second game against BOTSC is now scheduled for Wednesday, August 23 at our field at 7:00 pm.

And at the suggestion of our estimable president, Phil, we are suggesting half a game of soccer and half a game of touch. Looks like they will go for it!

Get your name in to sign up, johnguilfoyle99@gmail.com, in person or on a blank cheque.

John (The Special One) Guilfoyle

P.S. We are hosting, so we will need the Indian food that we spoke of.

Thanks!

Please let Derek Wiggins know if you are going to be there.

Sunday 13th August is our annual Cricket match against the Burlington Welsh Choir....we will be meeting at the Centaurs clubhouse at 12:30, for a 1:00 PM start.

Please bring something to eat during the afternoon tea interval...a plate of sandwiches is the usual offering, but anything edible that can be shared is welcome!

We need a good turnout to make this afternoon a success so please come out and try your hand with bat & ball, all equipment is supplied, and white cricket attire is not obligatory!

For those not familiar with the game here is a short rundown of the basics....

Well, that clears things up...hope to see you on Sunday 13th August!

As some of you may have heard, Cye was taken into hospital yesterday because he was feeling unwell and had difficulty breathing. He is home now and just gave me a call to ask me to update everyone on his condition. Unfortunately he has been diagnosed with bowel cancer which has spread to his liver and the breathing issue was caused by lumps under his rib cage. Obviously this news is not good but Cye is in excellent spirits and is determined to fight his ailment. At the moment he is feeling strong but is losing weight because of loss of appetite.

Next steps are further tests to exactly determine the extent and type of his cancer and then treatment will commence ASAP. I'll stay in touch with him and update you as news develops. I told him that everyone is pulling for him to make a complete recovery….JKT

NOBS NEWS: This Weekend. Fwd: Outdoor Touch Rugby & U-19 Ontario Blues vs NZ Touring School St. Peter's

All, on Sunday there are a few things happening at the main field.  The "Canada Touch Rugby" is having's it first day starting @1:00 (see attachment).  The NOBs touch is still ON and we will share the main field. The organizers would like the NOBs to put in a team, so we will need to make a call.  Let's see how things shape up.  The goal of introducing a more formal Touch league is to get more people involved in the game - nothing wrong with than.  At the same time, we want to preserve the "friendly" nature of the NOBs game for all ages.

At 3:00 the U19 Blues are playing a touring side, free admission and there will be food available.

Thanks
Phil
