NOBS News: DOME and Chambry

If you have not heard the DOME is open on Tuesday and Thursday for those that have signed up.  If you still what to participate, show up and talk to Rolf, he will get you sorted out.

We have confirmed the Chambry game for Wednesday, Nov 2.  We are at home, under the lights of the soccer field (like last year, Thanks Barry).  KO is planned for 7:00, so players need to be there ideally ~6:30.  Our scouting report tells us Chambry has some players, and are still younger and fitter….so same a usual.  We need to get the core of our side sorted, so let me know if you intend on playing.  I have already heard from some.

Thanks
Phil

NOBS News: FW: East West Game Sunday, October 30

Just a reminder about the E/W game this Sunday @1:00.  See information below.  This is an all comers game, and we have festival coverage.  So you are covered!
This past Saturday was a good outing up at Fletchers with 30ish players taking the windy field.  What was great about the game were the new faces out for the over 35 game.  Hopefully, we will see some of these faces again!  Our NOBS side was definitely lacking defence, it could be we have more forwards than backs.  So the real backs on our side had to work with what they had.  Personally, I have a new appreciation for full backs as I was trying to channel my inner Tony Windsor, but it was not happening!  One of the more interesting contest of the day was between RayH. and DaveM. who were battling for the GITS 2016 scoring crown.   Well we kept it interesting, not sure who came out on top?  Attached is a picture of the motley crew that took to the field.    Thanks to Jason Currie who made the suggestion to play up at Fletchers, helped secure the field, recruited a few players, and got the ref. - he might turn out ok after all.
Hope to see you out on Sunday, for the E/W.
Thanks Phil

Hello everyone,

A me

We have firmed up a field for Saturday Oct 22 for a game at Fletcher’s.  Now it is time to firm up the numbers!  As of this moment ,we have about 10-12 confirmed, but I have not heard from a good number of people yet.  Tentatively, we are schedule to KO @9:00 am – we have asked for a later start time, but we will get what we get.  I will know for sure early in the week if we are able to move the KO time.  It is Cup Day at Fletcher’s, so if you play well at our game maybe you will get the call for later in the day!

Thanks to the quick responders.  But, we need enough "YES” confirmed players by Tuesday or we will need to call the game.

Please respond to:phil.gray@cogeco.ca

Ray, Duane can you send this out to your lists.

Thanks

Phil

There will be an all comers 15 a side game in Burlington on Sunday September 25th at 1:00pm.
We have around 8 Silverbacks confirmed so far. There will be enough players for two full sides on hand.

Due to personal matters, I unfortunately won't be able to make it. Let me know if I can send the jerseys with anyone. You can drop them off dirty at the end of the day and I will take care of cleaning.

Spread the word. Please arrive for 12:30pm so teams can be organized.

Thanks

Duane

NOBs News: Oct 22 All Comers Game is ON, Fletches, Field 6, 11:00 KO

An “all comers old boys” game has been confirmed for this Saturday @ October 22.  KO is 11:00 (sharp) on Field 6 up at Fletchers.  For NOBs players, bring you yellow jersey.  GITS are bringing the other set.  Try and be there for 10:30 so we can get the sides sorted out.  You will be subject to parking fees at Fletchers as it is cup day.  As well, we will be collecting a few bucks at the game to cover the referee fee.  This is a great way to wind up the season! But don’t forget about the East/West on Oct 30 in Hamilton.

Please share this with your teams and the more there are the better the game!

NOBS News: Club Night, DOME SIGN UP - Thursday October 13

Although we have not seen snow, the days are getting shorter and our legs are getting weaker…So it is that time of year for the DOME!

As in past years, there will be a Fall and Winter Session with Tuesday and Thursday nights. At this time this is what we know, the “Rugby Club” has the dome on Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 and we have on Tuesdays between 7:00 and 8:00, so the schedule is as follows…

Fall

Tuesday               7:00 to 8:00 NOBs - starting October 25 (To be confirmed):  Fee $75

Thursday              6:30 to 7:30 NOBs, Rugby club to 9:00 - starting October 27 (To be confirmed):  Fee $75

Winter

Tuesday               Times and Fee TBD

Thursday              Times and Fee TBD

Unfortunately, we have not been able to confirm times for the New Year.  That said, to participate you need to sign up with Rolf, our gate keeper to the DOME.  Rolf will need your $$ and email address.  As in past years, first priority will be given to past participants.

To facilitate the sign up, we will be having a “club night” on Thursday October 13th starting around 7:30.  Between 7:30 and 9:00 Rolf will collect your Fees and Email.  Even if you aren’t Doming it this year, come out for a little social time.  If you can’t make it that night, make sure you email Rolf (rolfthomas@live.com) about your interest.  Again, past players will be given preference, but only for so long.  If you come around 6:30 you can catch and game of outside touch!

Thanks

Phil
