Craig,

A bit late in the day I know but attached you will find an invite to the Christening of Sam our daughter (who just celebrated her first Birthday).  Would you send it out to the NOBS saying that anyone that wants to come to the celebration afterwards would be most welcome.

Anyone who lets me know in advance (neil.alexander@rolls-royce..com ) will be fed and watered (or offered some other brewed refreshment) anyone that just shows up will need to bring their own.

I hope to make it down to see you all soon.

NOBS WORLD, JUNE 19TH; THE GITS ARE COMING, THE GITS ARE COMING

Good evening rugby fans, on this hot late spring evening.  Checked the thermometer outside the Nobs World Headquarters and it was 30c !

This Sunday, when the GITS come to town, we are expecting a cloudy day, with a chance of rain and a high of 24c.   Perfect day for rugby to welcome Ontario's newest Oldboys club the GITS.

This  club, situated out of the east end of Toronto, will be coming to do battle.  Our reports from the field say they're are hard at it, recruiting for the game.  Our early season observations of them are that they are hard playing, talented players, who will test our abilities.  It will be all hands on desk for this tussle.

Try to be there dressed, warmed up and ready to go for 1pm.  Volunteers are always welcome to help open up the club and get the field ready to go.  Don't forget, as always there is touch at 1pm in Burlington.

See you on the pitch Sunday, Da Thug

NOBS 30 ANNIVERSARY WORLD, JUNE 13TH "ODDS & SODS'

Good morning rugby fans, all across the Nobs World.  Great fixture out in Markham,

more on that at the end.

This weekend there are 2 rugby games options for everyone.  At Sunnybrook this Sunday

There is a game at 1pm.  Everything you need to know is in an email below from

Ray “Boyo” Hopkin.  Yes; another Welshmen!

If you plan to attend, Ray would like to hear from you so that he can confirm the fixture

for you.  He can be found at rayhopkin@gmail.com.

Longtime friend of the Nobs; Frank Tobol has invited everyone down to Branford, this

Saturday at 1:30 to participate in a charity Oldboy’s match.  Frank can be reached at

ftombol@danlawrie.com

Of course touch is on in Burlington, Sunday as usual at 1pm.  Something for everyone!

For those of you going to the Canada, Italy International this Sunday it has been

suggested we wear our Nobs Green Jerseys, t-shirts, golf shirts, etc.;  and sit together

in a sea of green!

Our beloved Emperor for life, Mel Crossfield has informed me that he is looking for players

for the two upcoming Nobs soccer fixtures, July 13th and August 10th.  Mel can be reached

at melcrossfield@cogeco.ca.  All are invited to play, so don’t let talent get in your way!

That’s about all for now; but I can hear you all saying, “what about Markham?”

The Nobs travelled east last Sunday to scuffle with the Grey Hares/ Lions.  It was

A fine day for rugby, with the now Markham irrigated pitch in beautiful shape.

Both sides had a full complement of players and subs standing by.  In a familiar

pattern, the Nobs jumped out into a lead, only to have the opposition get back

into the game and tie things up.  The Nobs held the lead throughout the game,

but the home side tied it up late in the game.  Both sides had a last chance at the

ball, but when referee Leon Racine blew the final whistle nothing had been

resolved.  Next game up for the Nobs is at home Sunday June 24th as we

host for their first visit ever to play us; the Gits!  See you at the International

Friday, Da Thug.

Take it away Ray…..

Great game today! Bloody bouncy ball! Anyway, Gits vs World XV (All-Comers), at Sunnybrook, 1pm, June 17th.

Okay, we need to know who is coming to this game! Please respond if you're coming, and pass this onto anyone else

who isn't on this email list!

We'll need numbers as it's a Fathers Day weekend, so we'll be missing some guys.

Remember that after the game we go to The Kilt & Harp for a drink, and then head down to the Beaches Rib Fest,

all members of the family are welcome, as this should be a proper fathers day!!

Cheers, Boyo.

Thanks, Ray Hopkin.

FW: Glen Steen Fundraiser

Good afternoon folks.  The Nobs have no game scheduled for us this weekend but there is lots of rugby to take part in.  I have received word from the Brantford Harlequins that there is a fund raising game for long time Harlequin Glenn Steen this Saturday and they are looking for players to join in.  Game time is 1:30 and if you need  more information you can contact Frank Tombol at ftombol@danlawrie.com.  There is also a game that we have all been invited to participate in this Sunday at 1pm, in beautiful Sunnybrook Park.  I will send more out on this very shortly.   Da Thug

Good afternoon Craig,

I know this is short notice but Stoney Creek’s old boys have just informed me that they can’t bring a full squad – they are still committed to playing but are looking for some more numbers.

If you could forward this to your list of players it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Frank

On Saturday June 16 the Brantford Harlequin's will be hosting a Glenn Steen

Fund Raiser with an all comers old boy's game at 1:30 pm.

Glenn Steen was integral part of The Brantford Harlequins through the 1970's and

has stayed in touch with the club at various fund raising events.

Last summer Glenn was returning home from our annual old boy's golf

tournament when he fell off his bike and injured his back. The fall left

a great extent of his body paralyzed.

In combination with the club's Family Day Festival and or Old Boy's Committee,

the all day event will focus on raising money for Glenn and his family.

As part of the day's activities we are offering an all comers old boys game at 1:30 pm,

followed by a Marshall Division game with ourselves and Stoney Creek.

I encourage you to come out and enjoy the day long event, bring your cleats and

help out Glenn and his family.

Regards

Hi Craig, could you do me a favour and let people know that we are actually having a game on Fathers day, please? Lucky Rideout has Sunnybrook booked for the day as he's got a mini tournament going in the morning, so we thought we could have a game that day. I'm making it into a mini fathers day tour, as after the game we are going to the Beaches Rib Fest, and then after that we end up at Woodbine & Danforth for pints! It will be good to see what numbers we get for the day beforehand, it's going to be The Gits vs A World XV (All Comers).

Cheers!
