NOBS DOME COMMITMENT: YES or NO - Your Immediate Response is Required

Simple message today regarding dome times.  On Tuesday we will be running a 4-5 session.  On Thursdays we have the option of 5:30 - 6:30 or we can do a 4-5.

Before we commit to a 5:30 to 6;30 time, which is 2x the cost of 4-5 we need to know we have the numbers to support.  The dome is about $250/night (5:30 -6:30) and if we look at 10 weeks (Oct to Dec) that is $2500 divided by the number of players.  

Simple questions do we have enough players who can make it between 5:30 and 6:30.

If you can't make Thursday at either time, there is no need to respond. 

If you can make Thursday indicate, your commitment to 4-5 and 5:30-6:30. 

If you can make either time or one of the times only that is what I want to know.

I will compile the responses, the cut off is this Sunday evening.

For those who can't make either time, the League will be back again in the dome on Thursday's 6:30 to 8:30.

Last note, I am making inquiries about SUNDAY Dome times.  I know it is great to be outside, but if we can get more out on a Sunday if we are in a dome it might be a good thing.  Not sure about what is available times, but will get back with more information as I get it.

NOBS SOCCER CANCELLED

John let me know that this Friday is a NO GO. The soccer guys do not have the numbers. We will look to schedule something in the fall.

Sorry for getting your hopes up. But not all is lost there will be touch on Thursday and Sunday......

Just to confirm we have a contact game Saturday September 15 @ 1:00 at Sherwood.

NOBS NEWS: Events and games

Well a busy weekend with the Centaur's 45th. Golf, games, banquet - what could go wrong. A great weekend no matter if you took part in a few things or all the activities. The Alumni team did well against the GITS with a few quick try's to start. The game evened out as it went on and as the GITS had some late arrivals get into the game. In the end I think it was 7 try's to 5. GITS WILL BE BACK!

Things are starting to heat up for the fall!

SOCCER - Friday Aug 31 (this Friday) is soccer and touch against the Burlington's old boys soccer group. All welcome for this Friday event, with or without soccer skills. The weather will be cool a the after game curry hot. Let's have a good turn out. Start time is 7:00 but be there for 6:30 so we can get sorted. John G. Has made the arrangements so all you need to do is show up and kick a ball!

CONTACT GAME - we have contact game at home against the GITS on Sat Sept 15 @ 1:00. I need to confirm the pitch, so the time may shift (will confirm this week).

TOUCH - touch continues on Tuesday and Thursday and Sunday. We may look to start at 6:30 soon, but for now still 7:00

First off we want to say how proud we are of the Centaurs Senior Men and congratulate them on a successful season.

 

After being promoted this year the Centaurs went 8-2 and competed in the Ontario Championship Cup Final vs Waterloo County.

 

The score was back and forth in the second half with the game going into double sudden death overtime. In the end, the Centaurs lost a close fought battle 27-24.

1. This weekend Canada Touch Rugby is holding a touch rugby event at Sherwood starting at 10:00. $200 a team (10 players).  If the NOBS want to organize a team there needs to be a commitment by tomorrow. The Burlington Centaurs traveled to Ajax this past Saturday to face the Wanderers who finished 1^st place in the East Division.

Both the 2^nd and 1^st XV were victorious with the 1^st XV dominating Ajax with a final score of 94-0.

The Centaurs will travel to Waterloo this Saturday, August 18^th for the Ontario Championship Cup Final with the winner being promoted to the Marshal Premier West Division.

 

We will be organizing a FAN BUS to travel to Waterloo to cheer on the boys as they Battle for Promotion.

Stayed tuned for details for bus departure time as we finalize the game details and location.

Bus tickets can be reserved for $20.

Canada Touch Rugby is hosting a Touch Rugby Tournament in Burlington at Sherwood Forest Park on Sunday, August 19^th.

With both a social and competitive league games available, and beer tent it should be a great day!
