NOBS NEWS: TOUCH this Sunday CANCELLED DOme Update and Touch

After talking to a few regulars at touch this week, the numbers look very low for Sunday.  Taking into consideration that the field condition will also be wet with the recent rain, we have taken the position of CANCELLING touch this Sunday.  A very rare occasion indeed.
Just A reminder about touch in the DOME continues for 2 or 3 more weeks.  Tuesday from 4-5 and Thursday from 6-7.   As always (except for this week) we have outside touch on Sundays starting at 1:00.
Another reminder of the Easter Egg Hunt at the Club on Saturday, I believe a 10 or 10:30 start (don't have my notes with me).

We intend to host a 4-hour CPR session at the clubhouse in late April or May.  To do this we need to 7-10 participants (10 max) at a cost of $45.  The dates available are April 22 or 29th, or any Sunday in May.  It would be a Sunday morning session before touch.  Please respond back to me about your interest - at this time I would suggest April 29th as the target date.  This is also open to others (i.e. family member).  Depending on the demand we can schedule additional sessions. Health and Safety!
The online survey is still open we have gotten about 61 responses.
Thanks and have a great Easter Weekend.

NOBS NEWS: ALS - NOBs $10 Buck Match

At last weeks Executive Meeting we had a good discussion about supporting good causes, in particular ALS given Craig’s diagnoses last September.  Consequently, the NOBs club will MATCH any $10.00 donation made by a member to the ALS walk for team Craig and Tracey.  Rolf will gladly accept your $10 bucks, and your $10 will become $20.

Beyond the NOBS match initiative, you can still use the link below.

NOBS NEWS: NOBS SURVEY - WITH THE LINK

All:
In an effort to do better, we have put together a 7 question survey that if you can't complete in 30 sec.  maybe you should take up another sport!

The first question is to confirm if you want to still receive NOBS emails, if yes, we are looking to confirm your address.   The rest of the questions are designed to profile our membership, type of social functions, and any comments you want to share.

The survey will be open for 2 weeks.  We really are looking to hear from you ...30 seconds, that is all we are asking.

Thanks

NOBS News: Walk For ALS - Craig "the Thug" Morley

The rugby community is one that is hard to explain to people.  They can’t quite figure out how you can be fiercely competing and stomping on each other then once the whistle goes you become one team sharing the same experience (although with opposing viewpoints!).  As we all know, RUGBY is not just a sport it is the shared experiences, friendships and the diversity of people that make it so much more than a game.  On that note, as you know Craig Morley a longtime member and “caretaker” of the NOBS was diagnosed with ALS on September 15/17.  Craig and his wife Tracy have asked me to reach out to our membership on Craig’s behalf, please read below.

As you know Craig was diagnosed with ALS on September 15/17.  It is a journey we never imagined that we would take but here we are!  We are getting through this with help from CCAC, McMaster ALS clinic, ALS society of Canada and our many friends and family.

Playing rugby was such an important part of Craig’s life, not just for the game but more for the commaraderie. During his hospital stay and now at home he looks very forward to his visits from his NOBS buddies.

I am taking part in a 5k walk to help raise funds for the ALS society. These funds go to research and also to help families like ours defray some of the costs of equipment that is needed for our loved ones.

I have attached the link to my sponsor page in the hopes that I may get some sponsorship from some of the NOBS.

Craig and I would truly appreciate if you can forward.

Thank you very much,

Tracy and Craig Morley
