[Please note that you might receive this e-mail twice. Sorry, but you are on two lists!]

On Sunday November 13th a group of Rugby Pals met at The Granite Pub
just as they have for about 15 years. In recent years, these meetings mean
much to Hal Rowan whose days out are few. We had a good turn out that day
It was good to have Cec Moody present. Cec is undergoing mental and physical
challenges but he was in good humour and shared good craic!
On December 10th, Cec will be inducted to The ORU Hall of Fame. Much deserved.
Dennis Van Fleet had a phone camera so you might enjoy these 2 pictures

                         ONE WEEK LATER…………………

About 200 people attended the celebration of Michael Moroney, including many older members of the Rugby Community most
of whom adjourned to The Crusader's Club House for refreshments.

It was good to see Freddie Miller in attendance. Sadly he is struggling but seemed happy to be surrounded by so many friends. Here he
is with son Stephen.

Hello, Dermot:

I am very much hoping that you will be coming on the 20th.  You and others have been such faithful visitors, especially when Mike was not able to communicate very much.  I am also writing to ask if you have an idea whether the rugby guys will be planning to have someone speak at the celebration for them.  The funeral home has asked me to contact possible speakers to ask them to limit their thoughts to 3 minutes.  Could you get in touch with the others for me about this?  I think the word has gone out to the rugby friends but here is the website for the celebration and obituary:  www.glenoaks.ca<

People can reach me at emoroney@bell.net or 905-822-7926 or 905-601-8756 if they have any questions.
Best,

NOBs News: Chambry Game

The lights were on, the field was soft and the “hands” …not bad for the wet conditions.  A great turnout last night, a game with 9 subs might not be ideal, but it was a great show for our bi-annual friendly with Chambry.  The Chambry side was the usual youthful group who just keep going with some good tackling and solid runners.  But, experience, good ball movement and some flare won the game.  There is already anticipation building for a Spring game!

Overall, a very good night to close out the NOBs contact season.  It has been a bit of an up and down season, but that is a discussion for another day.  Thanks to Barry for getting the field, Andy and Brian for prepping the field and feeding the meter for the lights.  And thanks to Rolf, Kevin and Mackenzie for taking care of the hospitality side.  Most of all, thanks to the Chambry team for their sportsmanship and energy.

Let’s do this again.

Thanks

Phil

PS DOME touch is on if you have not signed up on Tuesdays (7:00) and Thursdays (6:30).  And there is always Sunday touch outside @1:00.

NOBs News: Chambry Game!

Tomorrow (Wednesday Nov 2) is the Chambry game where a new batch of recruits are put to the test!  The field will be in great shape, the lights will be on, and the weather looks to be fine for rugby. KO is @ 7:00, but be there ideally around 6:30 and bring your yellow jersey.  Spectators are more than welcome during and after the game.  Rolf has arranged for a fine spread.  There looks to be a good turnout, so don't be shy about putting on the boots, having subs is a good thing for this game. Let's have a good turn out for this highly anticipated game!

Thanks
Phil
