NOBS NEWs: Quick News

Quick news......
We had a good turn out for the Pub night at the Queens Head on Friday.  It is good to see the significant others out and chatting behind our backs! Looking ahead we will have a few more socials come late summer into the fall.
Other social items will be our cricket game and some soccer.  We are hoping to confirm dates soon.
New adventure - There is now a NOBs on WHEELS (that would be of the bicycle type).  Bob Cunningham has asked me to spread the word.  The day is Wednesdays, the time is 11:00 am, the place is the fire station at Cumberland and New Street, the duration is 2 hours, the reward (other than fitness) a pint at the end.  If you want more details contact Bob (bobles1@cogeco.ca).
This week saw the return of Tom Hopwood after a shoulder injury in the Chambray game earlier in the year.  He is back, and getting back up to speed!

Hi, The course couldn't accommodate dinner on Sep 14th, hence the change to the 21st. ( 1 ) The Course is Carlisle ( 2 ) Kick off is 12.30pm - we are hoping for a shotgun start ( all together ) but this is dependent on numbers. ( 3 ) Golf + Cart + HST is $60 per person ( 4 ) Dinner + HST + Service Charge $35.    Please let me know if you are still available with the change of date. Whether you will be with spouse, alone or with a friend and whether you will be golf only, dinner only, or both? Sorry for the change but appreciate a prompt response for numbers etc. Nick

NOBs NEWS: July14, Golf

On July 14, we tried to get together a side for a trip down to Buffalo.  At this time I have not heard back from enough players to make a side viable.  So it is a NO GO for now.  I am looking to get a fixture in September or October when club ball is done - stayed tune.
There is a GITS game at East York at 1:00 on Saturday for those looking for a game.  I think it is Lindsay in to play GITS, so Lindsay might need some help!
Centaur's 45th is coming up and there is a golf outing on August 24th.  It would be good to get some NOBs foursome out on the course.  The information is below.

Cost: $125 per person / $500 per foursome.

We need to encourage people to sign-up. A deposit is required for each foursome of $100 which can be paid through
e-transfer to 45th@centaursrfc.com. Or over the bar at the club, with the balance paid on the day.

The format will be a scramble and there will be many opportunities for prizes. Sponsors for prizes etc are being sought after.

There will be a dinner after the golf at The Dickens.

Dave Tait will help coordinate teams if you are looking for a spot, please talk to Dave.
There is also a NOBS golf outing in September, the date was September 14, but it has now been shifted to the 21st.  NICK has the details.
Thanks
Phil

NOBs NEWS: Contact Game Updates - Your POSITIVE response for the 14th requried

Hope everyone is enjoying the heat.  Come out to touch tonight and shed a few pounds, just don't forget your water!.  Don't forget Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday touch.

For the contact players, some updates:
There is a game this Saturday at East York against the GITS, this is not our fixtures but I believe the Krocks are playing and extra players would be welcome.  It is a 1:00 KO - just show up with your kit.

We are trying to arrange a game in Buffalo with the US guys that come and help us out.  We are looking at Saturday July 14th as a possible date.  I have talked with the GITS and they unfortunately have a game scheduled that day as we were hoping to get them involved.  So with out there help the question is can we muster 15 player for a game July 14th in south Buffalo?    I need to get a head count by this Sunday if you are IN.  If you are not able to commit then I don't need to hear back.  Share this around with others.

Last thing, I realized the other week the NOBS are not showing up in the ORU web site.  I should have this sorted out next week.

Thanks
Phil.
