NOBS WORLD, "JOY TO THE WORLD'

Good morning rugby fans, where ever you are on this first day of winter.  The season is all wrapped up and all the awards have been handed out.  Here at the Nobs World headquarters we’ve swept out the lobby of clumps of tape and dirt and tossed all the empty plastic water bottles and old boots in the bin. The lost and found box has been donated to charity and we are now ready for the holidays.  Someone dug out our old tree from under the steps and decorated it up in fine holiday style!

Plenty of things going on between now and New Years day so let’s get at it.  December 24th is the Annual Christmas Open House and sing-a-long in the Burlington Centaurs clubhouse.  Things kickoff at 2pm and go until 5pm.  This is a very popular event so get there early. Sunday the 26th is the Annual Boxing day rumble in Burlington starting at noon and goes on to who knows when.  This is an outdoors, touch event.

Wednesday the 29th up in the Centaurs clubhouse at 7:30 pm there is an open mike acoustic jam.  Julian Murray by way of our Rolf Thomas says all are welcome to come out and strut your stuff.

On Thursday the 30th there is an open touch session in the dome from 8:30 to 9:30.  There is a cover charge of $10 for the evening.

News Years Day is the Annual Gnome Bowl in the dome.  Things kick off at high noon.  The Gnome Ranger has asked that you be out early, dressed and ready to go.  Cost of this event is $5.

Jack Morrison has announced the Nobbie Burns Night on Saturday January 22nd to be held this year at the Lions Club in Burlington

Last and not least, let’s not forget the AGM to be held in late January TBA.

Let’s wrap this up with a joke from our mate in England, Alan Lloyd.  From all of us at Nobs World, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.  Be safe and Joy to the World, Da Thug

  Take it away Alan……

 First Christmas Joke

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

'In honor of this holy season' Saint Peter said, 'You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.'

The man from Toronto fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. 'It represents a candle', he said.

'You may pass through the pearly gates' Saint Peter said.

The man from Mississauga reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, 'They're bells.'

Saint Peter said 'You may pass through the pearly gates'.

The Burlington man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's panties.

St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, 'And just what do those symbolize?'

The Burlington  man replied, 'These are Carols.'

And So The Christmas Season
Begins......
