Fw: Gnome Bowl - New Years Day

Folks, here it is, the laws for tomorrows touch run.   Cost is $5, please get there early and ready to go.  Please look over the enclosed Gnome Bowl rules and don't forget a white and coloured shirt.  Have a Happy New Year and see you bright and early tomorrow,  Da Thug
P.S. A hang over is not an excuse for being late or not showing up.

Craig,

Thanks for sending this. I spent all night going through a thousand emails looking for it. I've made a couple of changes. Please send out the message below with the attached rules.

Centaurs, Nobs, and family:

The annual Gnome Bowl is upon us yet again and now is the time to read the rules so there's no misunderstandings. Remember that the rules are a combination of the Nobs and Centaur Thursday night run rules. I have highlighted the very important ones.

There is one significant rule change this year: ANY DROPPED BALL RESULTS IN A TURNOVER REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT TRAVELS BACKWARDS OR NOT.
We have had some injuries in the past from aggressive ball reclaimation and so in an attempt to make it a fun day for all levels, the ball is turned over when it hits the deck.........other than from a kick.

So before you all bring in the New Year, memorize the rules, pack your kit with a white and coloured shirt, have your morning after elixers at the ready, and be down at the dome by 11:45(earlier would be better as teams will be drawn up as you arrive).

Have a Safe and Happy New Years Eve.

Barry

Some of you may already be aware, but it is with a truly saddened heart that we share the news of our father's sudden passing on Friday, December 9th.  It has come as a great shock to us as Dad had been in good form and we had just had a lovely birthday weekend with him to celebrate his 79th on December 3rd and he was looking forward to Christmas.   A celebration of Dad's life is being arranged for early January in Burlington and once we have the details we will send out an email.  Dad also wished for some of his ashes to be taken back to Bristol, England and we will have a small memorial at that time.

Attached is Dad's obituary which will appear in papers next week.

Regards,
Alison on behalf of Kate, Gareth & Myfanwy

CHRISTMAS IS COMING

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

Good morning everyone throughout the Nobs World.  We are now into December and what a busy month it is going to be.  Touch is up and running; Thursday’s in the Dome and Sunday at 1pm outside in Burlington on the artificial surface.  If that isn’t enough there is soccer every Tuesday in the gym in Burlington at 7pm.  Barry Hyslop has asked me to remind you of the upcoming Carol Sing on Friday December 16th.  A bus has been organized for the night with pickups in Burlington  and Mississauga.  If you would like a seat on the bus get in touch with Barry at barryhyslop@hotmail.com ..

Things start picking up after this.  December 24th, Christmas Eve, the Centaurs will hold their annual open house and Carol Singing from 1:30 to 5:00 pm.  After a couple years absence, maestro Cye Beechy returns to lead the gathered throng in song.   On Boxing Day the 26th; there is the Annual Boxing Day Touch Rugby Game starting at 1pm in Burlington.  A great opportunity to run off the holiday feast.  News Years Day sees The Gnome Bowl touch tournament being held in the dome at Burlington.  The event gets under way at noon with the champions being crowned by 3.  Come early and be ready to play.  See you on the pitch, Da Thug.
