Thanks to everyone who responded. We can confirm we have a full side (still one short but I am confident someone will come through at the last minute). If you haven't replied please do so now, and yes it would be nice to have a sub or two as well......

We will do two car pooling locations:
1. At the club 9:45 a.m. SHARP
2. At the commuter lot at #401 and #6 at 10:15 SHARP

Should be a great day Sunday. See you then

Hi Gents,

experiencing registeringSince it's your first time up to us I just thought I'd pass along some particulars of our location.

Name:  Tiverton Sports Center

Address:  20 McLaren St, Tiverton, Ontario, N0G 2T0 (just off of Hwy 21)

Facilities:  Change rooms, showers and beer up all available on site (facing the building - go right and come around back).  NOBS will have dressing room # 1.

Kick off:  the usual 1ish o' clock - on the front field

Amenities:  Port Elgin (North) or Kincardine (South), have all your usual comforts (Fast foods, Hotels etc.).  Tiverton has a pub (Kings Pearl), Gas station (Esso) and a convenience/general store (Kwik Way) – all are two blocks away from the field.

We're also right on the shore of Lake Huron.  The lake is cold this time of year but serves as great therapy for post-game soreness.  J

Craig please distribute. Thanks.

As you know we have our first away match this Sunday in the second leg of our doubleheader against Bruce County. So far we have only four players confirmed out of only seven replies.

PLEASE REPLY TO TIME ELLIS TODAY as to your eligibility-only takes 5 seconds and it will give us time to make some decisions about the fixture/carpooling/etc.

Again, we really do need you for this weekend's fixture so please make the effort to support your club as well as supporting the newest member of the Old Boys community, Bruce County.

This past Sunday saw the NOBS take to the field in this season's home opener. The best way to put it is: It was a great day for rugby football! The weather cooperated as we hosted Bruce County in their inaugural game of Old Boys!

Well done to them for playing in the right spirit, and it proved to be a very competitive match with excellent plays on both sides. However I did have a gentle word with them about arriving an hour early and stretching/practising for most of that time-I was afraid our players might by frightened off by that kind of thing which has no precedent in Old Boys........Again many thanks to everyone who turned out, players and spectators, for what was a fun beginning to the season.

As you know we have the return match with Bruce County this Sunday (May 31 1;00 p.m.). They proved to be excellent travellers arriving with 18 players and a host of supporters and I expect us to do no less for our return fixture. The reality of Old Boys rugby is if we are to have good competitive matches we must be prepared to do our share of travelling or these teams won't be interested in playing us in Burlington. To this end I would ask everyone who played on Sunday to send an email by Wednesday to Tim Ellis indicating whether you are playing this Sunday or not. I would also ask all players who weren't there on the weekend to send him confirmation as well for this week.

Tim is close to confirming some additional games for the season and we will send you a schedule update shortly. With such a great start to the year I'm looking forward to a terrific season.

And one more reminder that the Franconia tour is the weekend starting Thursday June 4. If you haven't already, let me know if you are attending.

On a final note our friend Tony Windsor seems to have done himself a mischief last Sunday and managed to injure himself early in what was to have been his final NOBS game before he and his family move back to England. It's the fate of thoroughbreds-always breaking down.......Tony I hope you still come out before leaving so we can all have a crack at signing the cast!

Cheers

Chuck

Respectfully request you please share with the NOBS.  Wonderful legacy illustration of the growth of the game at the Mini's level from those who have done so much within the NOBS organization.

Hi Craig

Can you send the following out to the NOBS

Franconia is just around the corner, and we need to hear from those who are planning to come. Reminder that the games are Saturday June 6, but the festivities start Thursday evening with a lobster cook out at the Stonybrook motel and then our pre-game bar-b-cue Friday night.

Can everyone who is attending please confirm to Chuck at chuckschandl@gmail.com and let him know if you are arriving for Thursday and if so whether you want lobster, salmon or steak for that night. Even if you've told him before, his memory isn't what it was and confirmation is requested.........

Also the opening game of this Old Boys season is upon us Sunday May 24th with the NOBS hosting a new old boys club from Bruce County 1:00 p.m. kick off.  You must be registered by then to play, and if you haven't yet the instructions are on the nobsrfc website.

Fwd: NOBS WORLD MAY 7TH 2015

Good morning to everyone in the NOBS World on this beautiful May morning; where ever you are.

Touch begins tonight on soccer field #4, at 7pm; here at the World Headquarters.

Rolfy has been shining up the collection plate, and asked me to remind everyone who participates, that there is a $5 match fee.   Also; he also wants to remind all of us that our $100 social membership is now due and the playing portion of $90 can be paid on line.  Pay up and sleep well.

See you at field #4 tonight, Da Thug
