It has been quite over the past 2-3 weeks with our regular Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday touch. The games have been good, the weather has been hot and the showers do nothing to cool you down. We have also been trying to instil a little discipline into the game to reduce the one handed knock downs and to get back on side quicker. Mixed response at times, but some improvement….
We had a good turnout the other week for the Pub Night at Queens Head in Burlington. We will be having another evening out in September/October so if you have a suggestion for venue let me know.
This Tuesday the ONTARIO BLUES are playing the ROCK with a 6:45 KO on the main pitch. So you can see the game touch will start at 6:00 sharp. I am told touch will be on the artificial turf, but you will figure it out.
A couple of other reminders:
- Centaur’s Alumni weekend starting on August 24th with golf and a full slate of games and activities on the Saturday the 25th. Talk to Dave Tait if you want o golf, I see there are two NOBs foursomes already signed up
- NOBS golf outing September 21 – Nick Parks is pulling this together so let him know if you are in
- Tentative – Annual Soccer/Touch Rugby game – Friday August 31. 1/2 of soccer followed by a 1/2 of touch, then some food – sounds like a good start to the long weekend.
We will provide a schedule of contact fixtures shortly.
Thanks
Phil
