All,  I have heard from Mike Cartwright that Garth Webb Secondary in Oakville is looking for a coach and if they can't locate one, their team will fold.  I know that we have members that have coached and have already committed to coach again.  If you are able to help, let me know.  Please forward this plea to others you may think available.

NOBs News: Easter Egg Hunt and more

It is that time of year, things are starting to happened as we wake up from our winter hibernation.

1. Annual Easter Egg Day – Saturday April 15 starting at 10:00 to 12:00.  If you have a little one who likes running around and finding chocolate, then this is the place to be on April 15.  Rumour has it the Easter Bunny will be hopping around.  There will be refreshments for all.
   
2. DOME 1 Touch – April 6, 13 and 20 @ 7:00 to 8:00 – let me know if you want to play $30 for the three nights.
   
   
3. Sunday Touch – For the next few weeks the Ontario Blues will be practicing on the pitch before we play touch and afterwards, so we need to start promptly at 1:00 and be off the field by 2:15.
   
   
4. Friday April 21 – NOBs Membership Night – Come out on Friday night and get a free pint if you pay your annual membership.  A great opportunity to show us you are still around. Fees this year have been set at $120 for players (touch and contact) and $25 Social.  What a deal!  Contact players will need to register with CRU/ORU through the online system.  I will send out information on this separately.
   
   
5. Saturday April 22 – Gareth’s 50th at the club house, see the attached flyer…it is worth a look.
   
   
6. Saturday May 20th – Ontario Blues Game at Sherwood @ 3:00– check out the Rugby Ontario site for details 

Things are starting again, time to get off the couch and shake off the dust!  If I have gotten anything wrong let me know.

NOBS NEWS: A touch of theatre....

A couple of things to share as we start to build up to the 2017 season.  Please see below for details.

No. 1

Our beloved Craig Warnock is appearing in the play ‘Oliver’ as Fagin, at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.  We are thinking of putting a group together to go and see the play and support our fellow player. The suggestion is that we book a group of tickets together and go out for dinner before the show.

Show: Saturday April 22nd at 8pm

Dinner: At 6pm location to be decided.

Tickets cost $33.

Dave Tait is coordinating this cultural evening.  But you need to response by Tuesday March 21 (that’s this coming Tuesday).  Pop him an email with your commitment. davet8@cogeco.ca

No. 2

We are winding up our touch at Burloak locations with two more nights (March 22 and 29th).  On Thursday April 9, 13 and 20 we are back in Sherwood Dome 1 from 7:00 to 8:00.  Email me (phil.gray@cogeco.ca) to secure your spot, I have heard from some already.  The cost will be $30.00, with full payment due on the first night.  If you don’t bring your $$ you can just keep going around in the revolving door.   

Shortly, we will be putting out a schedule of events (games, social, registration, other) to start the year.  

That’s all for now….so sad about England…and the French do take their time over things.

NOBs News: April Sherwood DOME

Our last scheduled night at the Burlington Sports Centre is Wednesday March 29th.  We have secured 3 additional weeks, but back at the Sherwood Domes.  Dome 1, Thursday April 6, 13 and 20th starting at 7:00 to 8:00.  The fee will be $30.  We will provide more info about sign up next week.
