You’ve got to admit; for 255 years old, he’s looking good.
This Sunday, January 26th at 1pm, Brave Men, with Brave Hearts will take to the frozen tundra of Sherwood Forest for our Robbie Burns Run. The faint of heart need not apply as winter will test the intestinal fortitude of the participants. The past month, the NOBS Sunday touch players [sounds like a theater group] have braved everything Mother Nature has thrown at them. Wearing every imaginable piece of winter gear, they take the field Sunday after Sunday.
Between now and Sunday we are expecting more snow and cold. Sunday 1pm is calling for -11c, a sun/cloud mix, with winds out of the southwest at 28km. Perfect.
Following this true test of character, we will retire to the warm and friendly confines of the Centaurs Clubhouse for roast turkey, potatoes, vegetables, gravy and of course Haggis! Whether or not you take part in the run; all NOBS are invited down to join us. Food will be served between 2:30 and 3pm. Don’t be alarmed by the packaging dates, our wee beastie is freshly made.
Below is an email from one of our regular readers; Sue Morrison. We would love to extend an invitation for Sue to come and join us on the touch line Sunday, for say; 10 minutes, and she will never again question our testosterone. LOL. Just kidding Sue.
See you on Sunday, Da Thug

I scoff too, as suggested the Emperor would. You fellows are either getting old or soft. I recall days when, in full regalia – toques, balaclavas, plastic bags around your feet, gloves, scarves and whatever shielded you from the cold – you guys would put your life and limb at risk on the frozen snow/ice surface, ignoring bone chilling wind just to prove you still had what it takes to go out and play with the boys. Whatever happened to testosterone?
