NOBS WORLD CUP WORLD SEPTEMBER 21ST 2011

Good morning rugby fans; wherever you are in the Nobs, World Cup Rugby World.  Last Sunday was a beautiful ender of the summer day, with the only dark cloud being Canada’s loss to the French in the Rugby World Cup.  In Burlington though, the sun shone brightly as GTA rugby players gathered for the annual Nobs 10 A-side.  There was the usual plenty of try’s, scuffles and allegations that the organizers had pulled a “Burnett” in selecting the sides.  Despite all that, a good time was had by all with the real winner being rugby!   Thank you to everyone who helped with putting on the day with special thanks to Chris Mant, John Noble and Rolf Thomas who went above and beyond the call of duty to help accommodate all our guests need.

“THIS SUNDAY,” we head east on the 401 to Peterborough to take on the Krock’s.  at the Nichols Oval, with a 1pm kickoff.  Carpooling will be going on from Burlington at 10:30 am; but stay tuned as that may change.  I know that a number of people will be making their way on their own.  Can you let Chris Mant know if you plan on carpooling or just heading down on your own.  cmant@cogeco.ca

Below is a funny little thing on what rugby players have been saying, sent to us by one of our regular contributors John Truman. You’ll have a little chuckle.  Our own Dave Tait is heading to New Zealand for the World Cup and we are looking forward to  Dave’s insights on all the goings on while he’s there.  Da Thug
