I’M  SO SORY TO HAVE TO PASS ON THE NEWS OF THE PASSING OF  MILLAR YOUNG.   THIS FOLLOWS ON MILLAR’S SLIPPING ON ICE IN HIS DRIVEWAY LAST SATURDAY NIGHT WHICH RESULTED IN A BROKEN HIP.  HE HAD SURGERY IN BARRIE AND WAS HOPING TO BE HOME   SHORTLY  FOR RECUPERATION..

 HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED ESPECIALLY IN RUGBY CIRCLES.

 ON BEHALF OFF THE NIAGARA OLD BOYS  WE PASS ON OUR SINCERE CONDOLONCES TO GINI  AND FAMILY.

Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I have to share with you the passing of a great friend in the form of Millar Young.

 

He passed away this morning, 9:00 a.m. at the Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Allston following an operation for a broken hip.

NOBS Executive - 2011

Good Morning All,

The NOBs AGM was held yesterday and it my great pleasure to announce your new executive for 2011.

There are a couple of changes this year. Firstly, I want to thank Jeff Ellis for his past contribution to the executive. Jeff will be focusing his efforts with the Centaurs youth program and did not seek re-election.

The executive was expanded by one member at large, so your executive this year is:

Millar Young

After a good evening at Nobby Burns on Sat sorry to have to report a sad ending for Millar Young , that venerable old XL &  NOB tourist of yesteryear.   Millar drove home to Alliston,  got out of the car and promptly slipped on ice and fractured his hip.  Ambulance to Alliston hospital and he’ll be transferred into Barrie for surgery.

 With Sunday being Gini’s 70^th birthday that was not the best surprise present he could have come up with !

  We all wish him a speedy recovery but he will not be available for selection for the early spring games.

 

    We’ll keep you posted.

Good morning everybody.  Jack has asked me to let all volunteers for the Burns dinner know tomorrow that we will be setting things up starting at 11am and then the cleanup will be Sunday at 11am also.  Touch will be run this Sunday as usual at 1pm.

NOBS WORLD JANUARY 11 2011

Good afternoon to everyone and a Happy New-Year to the entire Nobs World.  Lots’ going on this month but first off lets deal with something that is going to happen late February but needs to be attended to now!  Eric Andrae has sent out a message that plans are being finalized for the Nobs annual trip to the Ruggerfest in Ft. Lauderdale.  If you haven’t made your intentions known and you want to go, get in touch with Eric at eric@theandraes.com.  You snooze, you’ll lose! 

   The Nobs Annual Nobby Burns Night is set to go on January 22^nd.  If you would like to go and don’t have your ticket get in touch with Jack Morrison at s.j.morrison@sympatico.ca

  The excitement doesn’t stop there; Sunday January 30^th will see the AGM in the Centaurs clubhouse at 3pm following touch that is run from 1:00 to 2:30pm.  All executive positions are open for election.  Come on out and exercise your democratic right. 

  One last thing we are currently putting together a new Nobs track suit that we hope to have sample of by the AGM.  More information will be forth coming on this once it is available.  Touch is being run every Sunday at 1pm on the artificial surface in Burlington, for the bargain price of $5.  See you on the pitch, Da Thug.

NOBS WORLD JANUARY 6 2011

A good friend and team mate of the Nobs, Rod Allen passed away in a car accident last Thursday, December 30, near Canmore Alberta.  It was brought to my attention that there may be people in the Nobs World not aware of it and would I pass the message on.  In the same accident Rod’s brother in-law and his wife also died.  Rod is survived by his fiancé Jamie Waugh and son’s Rylen and Oliver.  Our condolences go out to them.  Words can not describe the sadness that is felt in the rugby community.  The Burlington Centaurs have invited everyone to come out to their clubhouse this evening at 9:30 pm where we will join together to raise a glass and toast our mate Roddy.  Craig
