Some sad news to pass along.  Long time NOB Steve Carter’s mom passed away last Saturday.  Steve and his brother Colin [Biff] have long been members of the Centaurs.  Are condolences go out to all of the Carter family.  Craig

Hi Craig can you inform the NOBS that Steve and Biffs Mother passed away on Saturday morning. The Funeral will be at 10-30 Saturday morning at Smiths on the Guelph line followed by a reception at the Legion Could you also pass it on to The Centaurs website. As you know Steve and Biff were both team Captains over the years.

NOBS WORLD FEBRUARY 4TH 2014 AGM REPORT

Good morning to everyone in the NOBS World.  Another cold day here at the NOBS World headquarters, in this never ending winter of 2013-14!  The AGM was held last Sunday and here’s a quick overview of what happened.

 

In 2014 the spotlight is going to be on finances and a new code of conduct.  It was agreed upon by the outgoing 2013 executive that we must take a hard look at our spending and develop a plan to cover our  costs.  The winter touch program which also factors in heavily to our costs, will need to be reviewed as in 2014 a 3^rd dome is to be added and the artificial turf we currently use will be gone.  We have a number of proposals to look at.

 

Jason Leek has put together a code of conduct for our playing sides which we will be playing under moving forward.  This is going to be given to all our future opponents stating how we will be playing the game and  what we expect from them if they wish to play us.  The code is really for all old boys rugby, which we are hoping all teams will accept and we can all move forward in developing the old boys movement.  Well done Jason.

 

Jason also gave us a report on our upcoming 2015 World Cup tour.  Plans are moving along, with the tour now open to outside players. 

 

Special thanks were given to outgoing members of the 2013 executive; Jack Morrison, Dave Tait  and Pete Allan.  All 3 will be missed with the great contributions they have made to the club.
