Good afternoon to everyone in the NOBS World, on this last September weekend.

This Sunday, the troops head east down the 401 to take on the Krocks

.

Ed Holton, above left, is looking forward to greeting everyone at the Nichols Oval, 725 Armour Rd. in Peterborough.  There will be carpooling leaving Sunday at 10:30 am from Burlington.  The GITS will be on hand, as we combine forces with them for the upcoming tussle.

There is TOUCH this Sunday in Burlington at 1pm.  Be there; or be square.  Something for everyone.

Bob Cunningham has let me know that we will be holding an event on Friday, October 24th, with a live band featuring our newest Nob, James Ferris

Should be a Rockin, good time.  As soon as I have the details, so will you.   Sorry about the photo James.

Have a nice weekend, Da Thug

Gentlemen, last week we spoke about carpooling to Peterborough this coming Sunday, to play alongside the GITS against the Krock's.  I know that Mike Olney, Gary, Kevin, Scott Lewis and Brian Butler have expressed interest.  I know that the GITS are going to have a good core of players there, but would like reinforcements in this fixture.  We will meet in Burlington for a 10:30 departure.  If you plan to make your way there on your own let me know, and if you would be interested in carpooling, I would also like to hear from you at camorley09@gmail.com  This is a good game, at a great grounds, with great hosts, Da Thug

P.S.  The address for the fixture is below.

From: Rob Lee [mailto:rob.lee@midland.gg]

Hope to see some of you guys there.

Cheers

Thanks Rolf,

Bit of bad news, Kat was involved in a very serious accident. An exploding liquid/gelatin candle exploded and gave her second degree burns to her neck, shoulder and left arm. She will be in the Burns-unit of a hospital in Malaga for the next three weeks whilst they determine whether skin grafts are necessary

I’ll keep you updated……………………..Nigel

As you can see, work is underway to put the domes up.  That means our Tuesday and Thursday dome sessions are only a few week away.  More on the dome in a bit; but let's talk about the 10's yesterday.

Despite the weather warnings of rain and thunderstorms, it was a beautiful day for rugby.  The only problem was the turn out.   We had expected 40+ players, but ended up only having 2 teams and spares.  None the less we had a great game.  Two, 20 minute halves and all the running you could want.  When referee Susan Heald's whistle went to end the game, Mike Gorman's Green team had defeated Craig Morley's Yellow's, by 2 trys.  It was a sea saw battle with the yellows jumping out front quickly, only to see the greens fight back and eventually win the match with 2 late trys.

Thanks to our referee Sue Heald, Chris Mant for the tasty Montreal smoked meat and the Centaurs bar staff.

This Coming Sunday we are carpooling to Peterborough from Burlington, of course your more than welcome to make your own way there.  We'll have more information on this later in the week.  There will also be touch in Burlington at 1pm.

October 5th will see us back home in Burlington as we host the Silverbacks.

Good news, we have finally made contact with the Chambrays and will be making plans with them for a mid-week game in October.  Stay tuned

We will be running 2 sessions in the Dome this winter.  One on Tuesday and Thursday, from 7pm to 8.  Cost for the full season, will run around $140.  We will have a final number when we see our costs.  There are 48 spots on Thursdays, and we will give first priority to those who played last winter.  We will have a waiting list, but after a date to be given, it will be first come, first served.  You will not be considered on our list until we receive payment.  On Tuesdays we will have half the dome and room for 24 spots.   Same thing as Thursday, you will need to pay to be considered on the list.  You can contact me at camorley09@gmail.com.

One last thing, we would like to say a final goodbye to our good friend Chris Mant, who will be moving out west this week.  All the best Chris, and stay in touch.

Da Thug

Good afternoon to everyone in the NOBS World; where ever you are.  Larry has informed us  he won't be available for this Sundays 10's.  Pictured above is the 79 year old Larry, taking the field in anticipation of the second half kickoff, September 2012.  Larry's squad went on to win the tournament that day.  We'll buy Larry's excuse this year, but not from you.  Kickoff is set for high noon Sunday the 21st.   Please arrive early and be ready to go.  Better still show up earlier and help set up.  Someone will be there to open up by 11am.

This Sunday will be a special occasion.  Not just the 10's; but a sendoff for our good friend and team mate who is moving to British Columbia, Chris Mant.   Come on down and make his life miserable one last time.

I have been told that Larry is resting comfortably at home; keeping a close eye on Liverpool FC and on the road to recovery.  I have been astounded by the emails I have received concerned about his well-being.  He has received phone calls from a UK. Geordie.  Visits from a Scotsman on his way to the airport, heading home for the big vote.  E-mails from an Alberta Gringo, a Young Millar on holiday in Greece, concerned Krock's and a whole lot more.  God bless you all.  It is a NOB World.

See you Sunday, nice and early, Da Thug

P.S. Don't forget to bring your Green and Yellow Jerseys Sunday.  For those who haven't picked up their new ones; what are you waiting for?

He's currently in room 1 West, Observation Unit, Emergency Dept., Oakville Trafalgar Hospital at least Monday and Tuesday or until they can find a regular bed for him elsewhere in the hospital…JKT
