The rugby season is upon us.

 

FIXTURES:

The NOBS 2013 fixtures will be available shortly and then posted on our website. The first game is on Sunday, April 28.

 

DUES:

We have made arrangements to coordinate fundrasing donations at the same time as registration. For those that are able to donate, please make your cheques payable to Rugby Canada. For registered players, we ask for a donation in the amount of $250.00 and for social members - $150. A tax receipt shall be provided for this amount. You will have no dues for social or player registration with a donation. I encourage all those to avail themselves of this as the donations almost entirely come back to the NOBS to support rugby in Burlington. Please see Rolf Thomas to facilitate donations.

The social and registered player dues this year will be $80 and $180 respectfully. Social membership is included in the $180 for the contact players. Registration will be held in the clubhouse Thursday, April 18 and 25 as well as Sunday April 21st, after the touch run-around.

THOSE ALSO PLAYING CLUB RUGBY:

As a reminder, NOBS player dues do not cover you to play club rugby. If you are planning to play with the Centaurs, you must register with them and that will cover you to play with the NOBS. Please be up to date on your NOBS social dues.

 

2015 World Cup Tour:

Details for the tour continue to unfold. Now is the time to reserve your spot for this terrific opportunity. You can include a $100 (completely refundable) deposit with your registration to secure your spot. We are providing this to NOBS on a first come basis prior to opening it up to other clubs. Get your deposit in with your registration so you don't miss out.

TOUCH UPDATE

Good morning to everyone across the NOBS World.  Touch got under way last night outside and we had a nice turn out.  We are outside every Tuesday now until next October and the return of the Dome.  We start at 6:30 and an added bonus, for the next 3 weeks will be on the artificial surface.  There are only 4 more weeks in the Dome on Thursdays, but I have been informed that we can start at 6:30, so get there early.  We are still out Sundays at 1pm. Lots of opportunities to start getting fit for the season, so we’ll see you on the pitch, Da Thug

 

 

TONIGHT

Good afternoon folks, just a little update on this evenings touch.  Tonight we will be using the end zone of the rugby pitch, so please bring appropriate foot ware to run on it.  I have been told that there might be a chance the artificial turf will be available to us, but please be prepared to run on the field.  We will be starting at 6:30 to take advantage of the day light.  Don’t be put off by the cool weather we have today.  We have run in much colder and worse conditions over the winter.  We are after all; rugby players.  See you in the end zone, Da Thug

Hello old Pious one.
If you could tear yourself away from your meditations with Francis could you send an email to the great unwashed and even to the ones who have had a clean thought in the last year or two!
We have half of the artificial on Tues. night starting at 6:30 yes 6:30 due to the light.
Thurs. night we can start early as well at 6:30 as there is no one ahead of us.
ALSO Burlington soccer has asked that we run in flat or soccer type shoes from now on as the rounded studs bugger up the surface.

For those that are without ( soccer style shoes) whatever that means
 
I MAY have some new brand name indoor / outdoor shoes from liquidated stock at
extremely "attractive" prices . ($25 ish)
 
Also regular rugby boots , Flankers etc.
 
If interested send me your name with type of boot and boot size
US size is usually 1/2 a size larger than UK size. Check your old boots
if still legible.
I will grab whatever they have and bring to the club.
 
I am doing this as a favour and do not need the extra  work, so please
keep it simple for a simple soul.
