FW: NOBS WORLD Spec Photos

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.   I have been getting requests for the photos that appeared in the Hamilton Spectator on April 17th.  It seems that some people are having difficulty locating them at the Spectator website, so here you go.  Please don’t forget that tonight is the first of three registration dates.  Registration will also be this Sunday the 22nd and also next Thursday the 26th.  Our first fixture is May 6th.  Just another reminder that when you are coming out for touch to bring a light and dark jersey.  Da Thug

TOUCH UPDATE

Good evening folks, just a quick update on touch.  Things are underway Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.  What we are asking is that when you come out to bring along a white and dark jersey.  Now a bit of Nobs news.  On the first Thursday in March we were joined at touch in the dome by Ron Albertson, a photographer with the Hamilton Spectator.  Those photos are in today's [Tuesday] edition of the Spectator.  You can also check out the photos at thespec.com.  Check them out and we'll see you at touch, Da Thug

 THE BATTLE AT BMO 2012

Dear Club Member,

As you are hopefully aware, our Men's National Team will once again be going into Battle at BMO Field this summer! Canada will take on Italy this time on Friday June 15th at 7:00 PM. After competing in Europe's elite Six Nations competition this spring, Italy has moved up in the World Rankings from 12th to 11th in the world. This is just two spots ahead of Canada who are looking to prove they belong at the top!

It is Rugby Canada's hope that we send the message to our team that we BELIEVE in them through showing our support and being there on game day. With this in mind, Rugby Canada has made this year's match even more affordable by introducing a dynamic pricing structure. This new strategy encourages us all to buy our tickets early, as they are significantly discounted! Once tickets start to sell and demand for tickets increases, the ticket prices will also go up! Don't miss out on the best possible prices - get your group tickets today!

Ticket Prices:

Light Grey (upper 110,105)                 $10.00 (early bird)       $15.00 (second chance)         $19.75 (regular)

Grey (lower 110,105)                            $19.75 (early bird)       $25.00 (second chance)         $30.00 (regular)

Dark Grey (106, 109)                             $25.00 (early bird)       $35.00 (second chance)         $45.00 (regular)

Red  (lower 107, 108)                            $45.00 (early bird)       $55.00 (second chance)         $65.00 (regular)

There is a limited number of tickets available at the early bird and second chance pricing; early bird pricing is available for a limited time only, followed by second chance pricing which will also be available for a limited time only. As tickets sell and demand for tickets increases, the prices will go up too! All ticket prices are subject to additional Ticketmaster fees.

Tickets Available                 East Stand sections 105, 106, 107, 108, 109 and 110

Game Day                             Friday June 15th, 2012 / Kick off @ 7:00 PM

This is a great opportunity to show our support of our National team as well as being able to experience the special atmosphere which BMO Fields brings to the match.

Let's PACK THE HOUSE in order to give our team the REAL home field advantage!

GO CANADA GO.

NOBS 2012 Registration

Good Afternoon All,
The rugby season is upon us and your executive have been working hard to bring you another outstanding year. We also expect to have a couple of new sides to battle: A Hamilton team as well as an amalgamated Toronto side.

The NOBS fixtures will be posted on our website shortly so it is always available to you. The first game is on Sunday May 6th in Markham.

DUES:
We have made arrangements to coordinate fundrasing donations at the same time as registration. For those that are able to donate, please make your cheques payable to Rugby Canada. For registered players, we ask for a donation in the amount of $250.00 and for social members - $150. A tax receipt shall be provide for this amount. You will have no dues for social or player registration. I encourage all those to avail themselves of this as the donations almost entirely come to the NOBS to support rugby in Burlington. Please see Rolf Thomas to facilitate donations.
The social and registered player dues this year will be the same as last year at $80 and $170 respectfully. Social membership is included in the $170 for the contact players. Registration will be held in the clubhouse Thursday, April 19 and 26th, as well as Sunday April 22nd, after the touch run-around.
This is a link to the fillable registration form for contact players: http://www.rugbyontario.com/Portals/214/Documents/Administration/2012_RC_Registration%20v3.pdf. Please bring it along as it must be submitted to the ORU.

THOSE ALSO PLAYING CLUB RUGBY:
As a reminder, NOBS player dues do not cover you to play club rugby. If you are planning to play with the Centaurs, you must register with them and that will cover you to play with the NOBS. Please be up to date on your NOBS social dues.

TOUCH:
We will be continuing the touch sessions starting in May on the Tuesday and Thursday nights as well as every Sunday (except long weekends). We are encouraging touch players from all clubs to join in on the Sunday sessions to further develope the touch with the aim of expanding it to a league in the years to come.

I look forward to the season and encourage all of you to participate in the events that are available to you. Without your support, not of this is possible.

On behalf of your executive,
Chris Mant

EASTER AND RUGBY

Have you ever looked at an Easter Egg real hard.

The similarity between the Easter Egg and a Rugby Ball
are not easy to overlook.
It must therefore follow that Jesus and and Rugby are somehow
connected. Couple that with the fact that he had twelve teammates
and you have the undeniable fact that he must have played Rugby

League at the very least but probably Union. ( how many times have
the NOBS gone on the field with thirteen players or less.

Therefore heed the word of the greatest Rugby player the world has ever known.

" Suffer the little children to come unto me"

NOBS / BCRFC ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT

SATURDAY 7th April

At the Rugby Club starting at 3.00 pm sharp ( the eggs go quick so try not to be late)

Harvey the Easter Rabbit will be in attendance

"Little children" means just that , 8 years and under. Tots will get Pref. treatment
Lots n' lots of easter eggs, lots n' lots of prizes.

See you there then
